Wormwheel hobs (W-SR)

Hobs for wormwheels in PM or Carbide.

Available as bore or shank type hob. Single or multiple start hobs for radial or tangential hobbing.

Class AA, topping. Modul range from 0.2 - 3.0

The form and dimensions of wormwheel hobs are based upon the form and dimensions of the worm. These hobs can be designed with various corrections to influence the resulting mesh between worm and mating wormwheel.

The OD of a new wormwheel hob is the same as worm OD plus an allowance for backlash and an allowance for resharpening. The final dimensions of a wormwheel hob depend on the hobbing machine they will be used on and the hobbing method to be used.
